This is a yummy one-dish meal modeled after the British dish Toad-in-a-Hole. We love it with our brats and eggs on wet cold spring days (though we might have to wait until next week to get back to more typical Minnesota March weather!)

Ingredients:

  • 1 package TC Farm bratwurst
  • 1 red onion, sliced into wedges
  • A bunch of fresh sage leaves
  • 180g AP flour (that's about 1 1/2 cups for us Yanks)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. milk

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 450.
  2. Slice eat brat lengthwise and arrange in a large skillet or baking dish, skin side up.
  3. Make the batter by mixing the flour, eggs, and milk with a dash of salt and pepper. Whisk till smooth.
  4. When the oven has reached temp, pour the batter over the sausages and arrange the sage and onion slices on top. Bake for about 20-25 more minutes until browned and firm on top.
