I wanted to make sure everyone was aware of the different ways you can customize your deliveries:
- Set it and Forget it: Tell us what types of food you’d like more, less or never and we will keep track of everything you’ve received and which items you need next. We will try to deliver only the items your preferences indicate you need next. However, we also take into consideration the seasonlity of food. So in the fall/early winter, we try to include ‘more’ stockbones than people want so they have all winter to make awesome soups… meanwhile if your account says you need ‘more’ steaks, we probably won’t be delivering them in January unless you request otherwise.
- Make specific requests: For each delivery feel free to adjust the package that I’ve chosen for you. When you make a change request that seems to contradict what the preferences in our system, I will update your preferences so that the ‘set it and forget it’ default is more accurate to what you REALLY want to eat.
- Regular requests: Some members want really good food, but don’t want a surprise every month, want to supplement specific cuts from the store or just have a favorite box they really want to get all the time. Please let me know if you’d like any specific items on a regular schedule. Some members subscribe only so they can get a ‘bacon and brats’ box every other month or whole chickens or ground beef.
- Skip Deliveries: If you find that you didn't get to cooking as much as you normally do, just let us know you'd prefer to skip the next delivery and we'll refund the value.At the end of the day, I view this group as a cooperative of people who think like Betsy and I: we just want the best food and don’t want to have to worry about all the details and corners cut elsewhere. While the environment, health and welfare is clearly important, it also is pretty important that you’re getting the food YOU actually want!

How do I get back to the page I saw when I signed up where I could adjust the preferences for the amount of each meat an cut I was getting. That was much easier to use than the linked preference page?

Right now, we don't have a way of adjusting preferences using the slider tool. There are a couple of reasons for this:
1) Technology: Our backend system that tracks preferences, deliveries and such is NOT connected to our website, so we don't have a way of displaying each member's preferences and allow to adjust them online.
2) We found we do a better job of adjusting preferences if we hear which items members want 'more' or 'less' instead of a wholesale reset of preferences. I manually look at those requests to compare with what our system already 'thinks' they need. This generally helps tune things up better than when we used to request that members start from scratch to adjust preferences.
We ARE building a new system to manage all aspects of member's accounts. This system will allow you to directly log in and adjust your preferences, budgets, delivery requests, etc. Look for that later this year.
Please feel free to call or email about your preferences as well... sometimes a phone call works best so I can understand better what your family enjoys and what you don't.
